Ok. I'll try various settings. It's a luck that kray is so fast in rendering (at least with AA=none)
Many thanks.

Re: kray surfaces options
So the min value overrides the max one?
And now... to improve the 'shadow' effect inside the branches (and, so, to have the best volume effect in the foliage) I need to improve the number of the rays? I can't imagine this point.
I say this, becouse I have instanced trees somehow... flat
Thank you!

kray surfaces options
Can somebody explain me why we put (surfaces option->photon mapping->Control FG rays->)min rays = 100 and max rays = 0 to render foliage?
Ie, by a math point of view, why the max is lower than min?
Many thanks!

Re: Guinigi Tower (Lucca, Italy)
I tested your leaves surface but the render was too dark in the trees. Naturally, better than my washed preavious render, of course!
So I used the first render and the new one to PP this image.
Many thanks for the surface.

Guinigi Tower (Lucca, Italy)
Hi all. This is my interpretation of Guinigi tower, the only tower I know (in Italy) having a little garden on its top - with few trees in it. Actually the surrounding buildings are different, but I needed the picture for a didactical and artistic purpose, so I haven't reality as a target. I have no...

Re: walls
Ok. Now I realized where I messed the scene. The render is clean now.
Many thanks, indeed.

Re: walls
mmmm... I remodelled the walls as you suggested. The problem is still here. So I link you the whole project zip file. There is no copyrighted stuff in the scene, and it is a non profit work. If you have spare time to investigate, it would be very kind. If you haven't, it's not a problem. I suppose t...

Ok. I'll try to change the geometry as you suggest.

Re: walls
Many thanks... Attached.
PS: rounded corners walls should be realistic. Maybe 5mm is too great (but at home I have similar... geometries).
On the other way, if I model a simple box, I'll have to manage black spots on the walls. True?

Re: walls
here they are. There are some adjustments from the first to the last one, but the problem... flies around...
I suppose it's a problem of geometry... ?

Hi all! I usually make rooms with 'box' command with 'radius' =< 5mm and 'radius segments =>3. I make windows and doors via boolean operator, everytime I use the merge points and unify poligons commands (even if often this is with no effect). Do you know what's the reason why the render makes these ...

Re: Material: basic question
So, to make the subtle reflection blur on a painted wall I can use reflection channel with reflection blurring (with a incidence angle gradient as input)... As a second question, I have a doubt, cause in the repository of materials (here in kray site) I found some materials with specularity channel ...
