Hi all,
Could someone give me a starting point to make a water surface for a pool, a lake...?
It's very often a weak aspect of renders, even from good artists.
Thank u.

Re: water surface for a pool
There is no easy solution for that. To make good water you need: closed object (do not try make water from flat polygon because you need depth same as glass ) + colour filter from Layout. Important are also textures: one for big waves done by displacement (this can be done easily by Procedural texture).brownie wrote:Hi all,

Here my surface and example. Also remember please, water effect strongly depends from environment (I suggest physky or good spherical sky map to receive nice gradient effect in water reflection - in another words - near camera the colour of water must be deep green/blue, farther loose colour and get more reflection).
