Private work

Post by mathewlp »

Hello guys, It's been a long time I didn't post...so here I am

This is a private personnal loft work I just finished

HOpe you'll enjoy, all C&C and questions are welcome :-)

Lightwave 9.6, Kray 2.2 (LW 10 sucks for me too many bugs with kray), each frame rendered in about 2.5 hours, little postprod on psp (expo, sharpening, contrast)

Please don't post images somewere else or I could have problems with my client...Thank you very much

good work...but imho is a lot mistakes...
- weak contrast
- metals tab
- bath sink
- towels artificial (I know still without displacement)
- background does not match to interior
- flower should have fix wire
- mattress does not match to interior
- crap carpet
- IES make ugly effect on the wall
- some bad directions of wood

I suggest:
- make dark wood (with reflection) on the cabinets,
- sun in second interior from the top windows
- floor more reflection with reflection map
- ceramic sink inside holes
- some metals parts fro support drawer in bathroom
- small flower in bathroom
- halogens on the ceiling in bathroom

Hello Yoda :-)

First of all thank you very much for you interest, and comment.
...but imho...;-) I am really proud and happy with these renders, I made great progresses since I started with arch viz, even if that's never enough "perfect" for me and obviously for other people.
Besides just the fact that first you commented this post, and second that you wrote a book on it lol, make me think that I'm not wrong if I let me think my work is quite cool :-)
i hope this great community will go on helping me as much as it did it, until as longer as possible
ps: contrast is the main issue I meet when rendering...even if since I'm using tone mapping this gets better, sometimes i also use ambiant occlusion to better radiosity results and improve contrast, this trick when used properly, is kind of working.
otherwise, could you give me advices how to get rid of ies bad effects on walls (light size stretching?), and also to improve exterior matching with the rest?
For the rest I didn't waste enough time with the deco I know...dead lines dead lines...;-)
Thank you very much O big master CG&kray's Guru.
:-) :-) :-)
