lighting advice

Post by vpii »

I am working on a project that has alot of surface mounted lights on the ceiling, maybe close to 100 in all. I have to do a animation of the entire space. I started out using area lights for each light but my render times where crazy long. I went to lum poly for each ceiling light and render times are good. I am not happy with the lighting as much. My question is can you get as good of overall light from just lum polys? Area lights looked much better but render times again where to long. Any tips on how to get best quality to speed I would be thankful.

Regards
