Good day all,
I have an older seat of Kray and I am ashamed to say that I have not applied the time I should have primarily due to NT's advancement in the area of Radiosity rendering capabilities. Having had to resort to using F-prime, (A break in support for F-Prime led me to consider a purchase of Kray) I was blown away about how fast the radiosity caching has become especially with my dual quad core Mac Pro and the UB versions of Lightwave. i have heard about the update and since I am a regestered owner of a seat, perhaps it is time to appropriate some time to Kray as palnned. My first question, Is Kray able to support the UB Mac builds of LW?? if not, is there support planned for the Mac??
The LW solution is not without it's issues and Having had some success as well as what I would call limited success. Due to the convoluted work arounds i had to implement in order to achieve my rendering goals. In other words I achieved my deadlines but in some cases barely due in part to the issues I had with LW solution. In all fairness there were other projects where I just "sailed" through, it was almost criminal to say the least....
Anyhow, I have seen the LW solution so I suppose it is time to focus on the Kray approach. It would definitely be advantageous to work in the UB environment of LW on the Mac which is the better of the Mac versions for rendering... Any hope??
Cheers

Ah thanks, yes, it's been awhile but it's time to devote some effort just to have a better point of comparison. Have you done any animations with Kray and if so how does it compare to LW in the sense of ease of use, set-up as well as reliability??
LW's solution does work but there seem to be some idiosycrocies that manifest so it does become after a time,.... a system of workarounds (in some cases, not always).
Well, I suppose I should just find out for myself. Thanks for the great info and it's good to be back....
