kray demo reel

Post by _mats_ »

Phew, finally "finished" my demo reel, wouldnt really say finished since I plan on updating it with new work and maybe re-rendering some scenes with better settings when possible.

All work done in Kray (except the intro logo and the music ;)

OUTSTANDING WORK! Nice to see the reel "completed". Really nice work Mats.
My critic:
-On the reel, I would probably bring down the opacity of your logo in the bottom right hand corner. It distracts from the great work. By bringing the opacity down, you still have a nice watermark, brand recognition, and show the work off better.
- I think you did a great job on the exterior of the Casino. My only critic here would be more lighting on the ground level. Maybe just some lights shining in to the planters to accentuate the planters and give a little light to the flat work. Some water fountains have lights too. (See attached image)

Seriously though..you've got some very nice and inspirational work there. ;)

WOW, some great work in there :)

I wouldnt even bother with the details, maybe just the logo bit as Larry_g1s suggested.

Great ambience, the videos on the screens added a lot of dynamic to the scene... gotta remember that one ;)

Also, how did you go on about the ivy on that separator on the exterior shots at the end?

Thanks for the comments !

Yes, I see about the logo, I will add more stuff shortly, so I think I can do that in the next round, I agree.

The Ivy.. was just a trellis mesh with some leaves and branches from an archmodel that I cloned and places on the mesh, the just used the kray ray control plugin to keep it render friendly, with Johny's settings, min rays : 10 ..... max rays : 0

I can also up the quality a little more for the next round, did it play smooth on your end? (without any buffering stops)

thanks !

Very nice.

Best archviz reel I have seen in a while, also simply from the atmosphere.

Thanks for the comments

I still need to re-render (later) when I have some time and crank up the AA a little more and the blurred reflection rays, things to improve in the future.

tnx again !
