Ikea

Post by Janusz Biela »

This is small project (my and Adrian) made in free time for test.
Idea of start and modeling: Adrian
fix modeling, texturing, light setup my.
This is scene from one V-ray`s render, why it is a bit different, becouse we did not know position of lights, tonemaping correction - only speculation about scene....
No nodes in scene (next scenes will have it).
All cameras have same light setup (sometimes surfaces are a bit overbright) I thing in oryginal man from V-ray used different lights or HDRi becouse I cant setup ideal light for all cameras or I do not know how - but this is Exponential and I can use animation for this.
We finish now next another great scene (I thing with much better quality then Ikea) just need free time for finish them....

Excellent work as usual.

Id be hard pressed to find any crits.. if anything.. maybe the apparent lack of contact shadows of the trashcan against the floor (they might be there and not apparent because the floor is dark though)

Other than that it looks great to me.

You mention you did not use nodes, do you think using nodes will be beneficial in any way? (faster or even better quality)? and which nodes you use and where?

thanks Johny !

Oh thx for links.
I used half of lights from oryginal (we never saw light setup and positions....)
I used only light from windows and lamps + small one area on ceiling....... now I see: Kray have much better engine why? becouse I don`t used fake lights in this scene and renders haven`t big difference, I don`t used Super Ultra Nodes , just basic setup textures, I don`t used Specular. When we finde good balance between: colours, Power Shader, setup Kray - we will made much better scenes then V-ray with better quality and ....with much better time renders. Kray have Top 4 IDEAs: many bounce lights with good fisic , Super Speed Engine ,super speed reflection with blurr and fantastic managment of memmory.
