floating meats?!

Post by pechara »

Greetings All,

I just updated Kray from 1.7 ob5 to 2.0 (latest)
I recently did a small project of a deli merchandising in kray1.7. When i re-render the project in the new version 2.0 all the deli meats are floating around the scene. It looks a bit funny. but for the life of me i cant figure out whats happening. I see 3 distinct problems:

1. The meats and soda bottles are independent objects. everything else that looks in place is in 1 LWO file. Only the meats and bottle seem to be floating around.
2. The textures on the meat label have moved around. These objects are really simple and have no UV. Its just a simple cubic projection.
3. The image has a different feel to it. I used the same settings as in the 1.7 version. (minus some edge blurring in PS)

I consider myself a beginner KRAY user. I don't really know were to look for a solution to this. I'm wondering if any of you have seen this and can point me down the right track. The meat objects are in the proper locations. They only move in the rendering. This is just 1 rendering at the 0 key frame. I'm running LW 7.5d. (probably the last person on the planet who is still using 7.5) Here is the original image from 1.7 and the new 2.0 image. Any help is appreciated.

That looks weird. Did you try reloading your scene to a new scene (load from scene)? Are your objects instanced or anything?

as far as light goes - there have been changes in GI engine that could effect this. Can't realy say what without a scene though.

Did you not upgrade to LW9? If not i think it's time you do so now (to CORE)... ;)

The objects are just simple geometry and are placed in the scene. (think as simple as possible)
I agree with the need to upgrade. This is just the first time i started to run into computability issues. Did not have to worry about it before.
thanks for your help
