I wished NT would come up with such ideas. But always a step behind.

This will be big!
Re: This will be big!
Excuse me, but what has this got to do with NT? Are you saying this site was autodesk's idea? They say they are 'partners' with vray, that's all.
Some users need to stop blaming the manufacturer and go out there and do this instead of complaining about it. Think of this site, but optimized for vray, kray and fry.
The thought of NT bcoming a content management system like DAZ I find very odd...

Re: This will be big!
The website is cool but their pricing policy is a ripoff! They charge 2x as much for the same model for other 3D formats than for Vray...
It'd be cool to make a website like this but with free models - like google warehouse or similar...

archijam - Its not odd.
you just have to have a vision. Clearly you dont see it. CG is business.
Autodesk has vision and that's why they're number one.
jure - proarch vol. 1 is a good start. hope newtek will support the one who started the idea.

Re: This will be big!
Geo - As Jure pointed out, someone should just do it, and as you say, with a vision, not vi$ion.
So do it. Be the visionary. What has this got to do with NewTek? Autodesk has NOTHING to do with this site.
As a start, a collaboration with an existing (free) site may be a great idea - existing client base, infrastructure, someone just approaches them offering to set up the materials for the models optimised for Kray/Fry/Vray.
They win (value adding), community wins. http://www.e-interiors.net/ would be a great one, tho some of the models need a little cleaning/poly flipping.

Re: This will be big!
I use e-interiors and find it excellent, but the models do need cleaning up. Have you seen http://www.accustudio.com?
An excellent free resource, it's not for LW, but I guess it's fairly close to what you want.
It's also something that you might want to look at starting. You need a fast connection, a big server and some time and design talent and web knowhow. You could also host some Kray materials. There was a thread here for that, but it didn't get that much support, but to be fair, the guys do have lots of other stuff to focus on
Failing that, you might want to approach the Accustudio guys to see if they would be keen to accommodate LW content.
