Post by Roger »

Hello,

I am a new Kray user while using lightwave many years. I am excited the good quality rendering with Kray.

Following is my first rendering by Kray. Ceilling light effect is done by photoshop.

nice render. I dont like the color scheme too much though. carpetting could be too red. What did you use to light the ceiling so smooth? I used lumi lights but can't get that smooth gradient light on the ceiling. Area light produces blobs of lighting if I use it too close to ceiling.

Overall, nice render. My biggest critic would be the overall color of the image. Obviously there is a lot of red in the scene, but that red color seems to bleed all of the render. If you have to use that much red (per clients request) try working on getting that color not to bleed. I think there are some tricks you can do with the Kray Shaders in the Surface Editor.

yes, try krayindirectrays surfaceshader, desaturate at about 40% on the red carpetmaterial, that will tone down the rays shooting from that surface..

Thank you for your comments!

i have't use lumi light cos there are many white spots near the lumi light. Until now, i have't solve this problem.

Replace with lumi light, i use area light(scale larger) only and uncheck the double side face upwards.

I see. Thanks. I'll try it out again. I think I'll try an area light that's bigger than the recessed ceiling. I try to hide it behind the recessed ceiling which I do in vray. Maybe its different in kray.
