how to use well ^2 fall off light?

point light and area light use ^2 fall off setting ,near light is too much light
far is not much light
how to use it for soft fall off?

Turn up the gamma.

Use more light sources.

Use backdrop lighting.

Turn up the photon multiplier.

I use ^2 fall 100 mm Area... (light strong - minimum 8000 )
