Bathroom

Post by Steel »

Hi,
iam a new kray user from Germany.

First of all thx for this great renderer and the good support. 8)

This is our first real attempt after working some of the tutorials.
We still have some problems to getting enough light into the room to get
more white walls without loosing the contrasts in the shadows but nevertheless
we are happy with the result.

thx again
and greetings from Germany

Very solid render, particularly for 1st attempts. As far as your issue with the amount of light, etc. One of the things you're going to have to get past, I say this because I did, is that you're most likely not going to get the result you want for a final render, right out of Kray or any other render engine. You'll need to do some post production (i.e. PhotoShop, AfterEffects, etc.). Some of the Kray masters on this forum have been using this free app: http://qtpfsgui.sourceforge.net/ to adjust the tonemapping & such. I haven't tried it yet, but they have had great results.

Wow, all those new users from germany. Willkommen!

To get better contact shadwos you could try to set "Paths" in the FG menu to something higher than 0. This turns on Pathtracing in corners. Try 3.

But this image already look really good.

Hey! Welcome to the group! :)

Excellent stuff, do you have some render info to go with this (time + cpu info). It's good to see new users popping up! :)

Hey,

thx for the comments. :D
Hi Florian. Danke für die nette Begrüßung 8)

The setup of my scene is based on the tutorial of using Lightportals for the most part. Sooo...now after making some nice picture i´´ll try to understand what i have done :D .

The render time with a resolution of 3200x2400px was about...i think 40minutes on a xeon dual quadcore pc.

Greetings
Thomas
