One way reflection?

Post by _mats_ »

hi krayheads.

Here is another question, Ive searched the forums here and at NT's but couldnt find anything on this.

Is there a way to have an object catch other reflections but not reflect itself?

turning unseen by rays will kill all reflections, what I need to do in this render is remove the lamp reflection on the ceiling, while keeping the ceiling a tad reflective (latex paint) and also while keeping the lamp itself reflective.

Any ideas? or not possible at all just yet?

Hmm... I find this question quite weird, coz aint that the thing you would normally want? Real reflections? :)

I can't see the problem in your lower image, I think it looks quite good with the reflection on? (shouldn't it look like it in the real worl also?)

Why do you have reflections on your ceiling, anyhow? You only really see it on the big ugly one.

on some shots it looks good reflecting the light bounced from the floor, like a latex shiny paint, but for this shot I think I will lose the reflections on the ceiling yes, that will solve that issue

thanks Cap !
