hi guy's
the first image was rendered with the basic qmc settings.........for speed really.......
modelled and rendered in 1 day each, which is pritty cool!! fprime would have to cook them over night...........
have tried alot of different settings but i still can'nt get those nice soft diffuse contact shadows, like vray............any suggestions?? besides using un-cached pm..............
need to be able to animate these babies at this quality qucikly.............
i have attached a quick animation also...........its quite small though but rendered very quickly over 4 nodes.......

thanks jure
i have tried really small values like 1% and .001. seems to depend on how strong the light is outside...........skylight etc..............
is there a way to control the darkness of these shadows? sometimes they are there but its difficult to see them. its difficult to balance the light in the room and usually it washes the contact shadows away.............
is it better to use area lights in the windows to get the contact shadows instead of high sky light values.............

Make also sure you're not using FGblur. Area lights are sure to produce much sharper shadows since it shoots the rays in a very controlled way. Try it...richardo wrote:thanks jure

Another thing you could try is play with photon multiplier value. Lower values will give u more contrast but then it might be hard to get enough light into certain areas.

jure: i am going to try these different things today...........thanks for the knowledge
sustin: i have attached the kray settings for the first image. like i said it was just simple qmc medium settings. also i used the campus_probe hdri for the backround which gives a nice tone to the image and area light at 1.2km with inverse falloff^2..............
