Quick viz

Post by direwolf »

Hi, guys. This is my first post here. I've made a quick exterior viz of different options for a client. I had to visualize the terras, pergola and the chimneys.
During construction it appears one of the chimneys is not placed properly and therefore needs to be dragged above the floor. Hence the chimneyextension.

Let me know how to improve this image, i've done some testrenders. And still trying to learn to use kray for outdoor situations. Therefore all help is welcome.

Also i think it would be great for this community if jure can make a tutorial for outdoor usage of KRAY.

(Also the account used to buy kray is not automaticly added to the forummembers, is this correct?)

Haha that chimney extension is funny!

I think the only thing your scene is missing right now is some better textures. Try breaking them up because they look too even across large surfaces... You could also add some ivy on the pergola to make it more interesting.

This camera perspective is also a bit funny. Try more eye level perspective.

About account - you're right it's not connected to the forum yet...

About manual - I was hoping someone else will write it because I don't have much time lately. I'll try to do something in future though. In the mean time check out this forums for help, there's quite some helpful info here.

I've been reading the forum quite some time now, and have seen it all.

I've used different Dpont's skylight settings (then you do in your tutorial) since for outdoorscenes it gets a bit to saturnated (blue).

For the camerapov i can only say it's not my decision, my senior wants to see the cimney from this pov.

You are totally right about the textures and adding more objects for more reality / interest. But in this case i had only 2-3 hours to model/light/texture/render it from scratch (with 4 different chimney-solutions.

I'm just looking for a good outdoor-setting i can use every time, since i expect more of these quickviz situatie coming up in the near future.

And since you guys have good constructive critism, i though asking you about the lighting.

So, anyone plz.... any comments on the lighting? Does it need to warmer/cooler/lighter/darker.

Also, is it an option to have TB_Edge_Shader support to be implented in KRAY or have similar settings?
It's a real time- and polycountsaver for non-closeups.

It fakes rounding of edges.

Shaders are not possible with current LW SDK.

You will be able to use nodes for similar effect though.

Ah, you're right. Dpont made an edgenode already. Now all we can do is wait for the next OB release for nodesupport.
