I got this scene for testing to see differences in speed.
V-ray Final Gathering 5min (they have really fast FG engine):
K3OB4 override:
K3OB4 PPM FSAAG4 (16 passes):
I used real Physky2+Sun + LEM in windows + QMC. Of course I do not have displacement yet (towel) and I used my own basic Node surfacing.
Very strange wire with corners and one side poly for walls. It looks in render like light leaks but I wanted test it in new Kray3:
Render after 20 sec:
Pure Path Tracing:

Re: Bathroom
IMO K3 version with QMC setup look more realistic, but little bit more noisy than V-ray.

Re: Bathroom
V-ray has strange settings (I am not sure 100%) - there is not Physky, Sun is normal light almost parallel to the ground. Also render is done by Final Gathering. Making same like in K3 (QMC) time render perhaps will be 4-5 times longer.
Still waiting for answer from G about reflection blur. In scene you can notice smooth effect because of high settings (rays 2000!) Normally should be 200 and time render around 30% faster.
Anyway this is first render when I used normal settings in Nodes without any crashes , smooth work, fast response. We have to realize fact, this is just the beginning. The target is to close soon Core and start to add post processing for K3VPR - because everything must work trough the VPR. After that shaders.
Meanwhile G. wants add new options for rendering: VCM, bi-directional Path Tracing, etc but this will not have influence for Core.

Re: Bathroom
Wow. Beautiful, once again! I like that curtain! Is that actual geometry or an alpha map?

Re: Bathroom
This scene has exactly same setting in K2, so in this moment 100% support in K3. Curtain has clip map. Lights are typical invisible LEM in windows + Physky2. PM+QMC+FSAAG4 (PPM 16 passes)thomas wrote:Wow. Beautiful, once again! I like that curtain! Is that actual geometry or an alpha map?
Visible bug in mirror (reflection/transparency blur on the flower in mirror) - posted on bug tracker.
