Best recent interior setup?
Best recent interior setup?
After a very long time and sidesteps to other solutions (Lagoa) I need to do an interior again in Kray.
What's the best latest method/setup to do interiors?
Do I use PhySky or LW Sun? Do I put Area lights in window openings? Lumi panels? backdrop etc? and what settings?
Any good basic starting scenes for normal interior shots (living room)?

Latest set up for interior? You better wait for KRAY 3.

there in K2.x is good setup (of course!) Imho software has still huge potential and unexplored areas

Janusz, do you have basic empty interior scene I can use for starters, with specific interior kray settings and sunlight setup?
I have seen and read so many in the past and have lots of sample scene saved to my personal kray deposit but don'y know what to use right now.

Re: Best recent interior setup?
The idea is:
- to use Power Shader value 2.0 for LEM lights in windows with blue colour
- standard blending tonemap: - and for example QMC setting FG 500/0 minimum
Here some tests with different systems (Path Tracing has recurse 6....I do not want wait 2 h for basic room render so is also darker because of that)

Re: Best recent interior setup?
man the perfect setup for interior its based on your mood u want . u have tonemaping in kray so u know what mood u have .
and about the sun its easy to use . for exmple if u want to get really yellow sun just take hour in Physky Kray to 8H morning . wich kray give u nice orange color " warm color' from sun and u can mutlply the intensity of this sun . if u want more bring effect from the sun . so u will get nice bringht but u need to have kind of black ground u need to make ballance between then . there is no best setup for interior i think depend what u want . if u talk about gi ex... i suggest u . use QMC mode interior and exterior its really nice result .

Thx again for the great info Janusz. Couldn't you provide the basic scene as an example?! Think I could learn a lot, because interiors always leaves me with lots of questions. What Sun settings? do I use LW backdrop? etc etc. I don't want to start tweaking my materials, while working on a cempletely wrong lighting setup.
Btw "Power Shader value 2.0" You mean Luminousity Power mulitplier set to 2.0 ?

Thx in advance!
Re: Best recent interior setup?
First Kray INT shots, still very temporary WIP.
I have just thrown in some furniture to test shadow, reflection etc.
Not satisfied, images lack punch.

Re: Best recent interior setup?
I also don't understand where the white edge along the ceiling comes from?
Btw I use LEM lights in windows and some 0.5m squares just below ceiling in combination with Phys Sun.
Any tips on how to improve are very welcome.
problem for me is there are too many parameters that define INT lighting, should I adjust LEM lights? (or even replace with Area Lights), should I adjust SUN?, should I adjust surfaces? (nodes), should I adjust tonemapping?, should I use specific (power) shaders? and what settings?? And as one affects the other that makes it even harder.
Realy wished there were some good basic scene setups. A house interior is almost always the same, little change in windows placement but basic is the same. Same goes for materials, we should have basic materials for stainless steel, aluminium, fabric, all kinds of flooring to use as base.
Now it seems like a never ending trail and error process.
