This is my trick:
Use Area to shot in panel in Photonmap mode.
Very fast renders!
Best speed Sponza on Net?

I highly prefer the lightmap version before the photonmapversion with the bounce trick. The bounceversion lacks details and got much worse shadows.

I guess it's a choice of taste... I prefer LM also, mainly because of it's flexibility...

I prefer LM mode too. This is experiment, curiosity...
