How are you using it with kray?
Honestly I haven't used this feature in lightwave only in max. I have not tried lw 10 renderer objectid though I heard its broken feature. In kray you'll have to deal with separate png files and key the colors in AE and use alpha matt or luma matt.
Just wondering, exr output for kray? Jure? kray 2.5
This will make kray and vray on same level feature wise.

On the Buffer panel. Actually i already made some matte on the objects properties but it doesn't work. I'm not sure am I did something wrong or Kray Matte do not support yet in AE? Hope the next generation of Kray will fix this really good option. :)

But what format output in kray you use? Only rpf and rla store id data that ae can read. Domt think kray supports those two. So you have to use old way by keying or magic wand in ps.

I always used TGA format. So that is why AE can't recognize Kray ID Matte? If I need to use old way thats mean need to re-render again but turn off Kray render right?

No you're doing correct rendering one time with kray buffers on.
Then import surface id or object id sequence in ae or photoshop then do selection manually by keying or magic wand.
Why use tga? png I think is better but exr is best
Vray exports all buffers in exr with all data like objectid, etc so its easy to manage files and easy to pick in ae the ids.

Check zip file for johnys scene I used for surface id matt. You need aecs4.

Thank you so much jnom for the manual tips.. :)

Actually I'm not really sure which is the best format for sequences.
So I thought TGA is the best. Maybe will try use PNG later.

Yes mostly the tutorial I found used exr but never know kray can save exr format or not.

If we could get exr that would be best, Jure!
TGA is a bit big and not as good compression as 32bit png but I think that's all the advantage.

EXR is on to-do list so don't worry.
