Hard to understand & take a long time for rendering

Post by azman_821009 »

hi Everyone, :(

It's totally difficult to understand & learn about Kray. I was trying the very simple interior but the rendering took too long. Also, I have problem with glass which is it become darker not transparent.

What is a different between Photon Mapping, Photon Estimate - Global Filtered & Precomputed, Path Tracing?
Which light I should used?

Thanks,

Azmen

Did you check the tutorials and manual or are you still having problems accessing wiki pages? Here are direct links to some video tutorials:

Finally I can open the links. Thanks Jure. ;)

Anyway can I download the tutorial from this links? Because my internet connection sometimes not working very well this lately.
So at least I can play back again & again without open the browser.

Thanks again.

Sorry for that , but when You need learn REAL engine render You have to read wikiKray and forum. Kray is not toy as Lightwave native render or Fprime. This is sparata  . The same as in V-ray. But this does not mean You can`t or this is very hard... this need just a bit time to understand , because Kray and V-ray are very advanced engine renders. I know You can use MAxwell or Fryrender but problem with them is slow render (no interpolation engines)...but setup scenes, textures, trick how put light are the same. Computers are to slow for those renders yet. I don`t like wait 10 h for interior render, when I can do this under half hour or less 8)

Hope anyway can give some tips or etc.

Thanks. :(

Sorry but this both look crappy. First one is too much exposed... You need to work on your materials no render engine will help you if you don't make good materials.

You must be doing something wrong, because it looks as if Kray isn't even rendering using radiosity. Did you choose 'photonmapping' as the render method or is it still just at 'raytracing' (this is on the general tab). Also, go to the plugins tab and enable 'physical sky', just for laughs.

I'm sorry if you've already done this - that must mean that there is something else wrong.

For starters, I would advise you to download some tutorial scenes and pull them apart! Kray is a really nice render engine, trust me.

Kray is a fabulous render engine, but it is not ideal for beginners. It is complicated, but not that complicated. It's a lot, lot easier than Vray and produces similar results in a similar time.

You really do need to spend a little time understanding how to set up your scenes, and how to configure your materials and lighting.

When I say Kray is not for beginners, I mean that it is for people who care enough about the quality of their images that they want to spend the time setting up their scenes. As Jure says, you just won't get decent results with any render engine without putting in a lot of effort with materials and the model. The sample scenes are great for this, everything is set up for you so you can learn from the settings that are configured in these files.

Everyone here is really helpful with configuring your render settings, but you have to take the first few steps yourself. Post your images, and don't be afraid to post bad ones. I think that you learn more from your failures than your successes :D
