First Kray render_need feed back!

Post by HappyMantis »

Hi Everyone! I'm starting on this forum with a first kray render. As it's a test, I've choose something simple to model. The trees where here to allow me to test kray instancing, but finally I render them as classic object (they were done with tree designer, really excellent plug!).

So finally I think the picture is not too bad, but I didn't find a reason to switch from LW render to kray yet, I guess I had to know it a bit better...anyway here's the picture with postwork and the original kray render:

And here the original picture I took as inspiration:

The render was extremely long (3h30 with a Q6600) and again, I think I missed a lot of thing in the parameters (I put "interior" and "high" in almost every panels  ). And here's a perspective view in order to show my light setup:

So that's it, I'd like some feedback on that scene and maybe some advices in order to improve the next one (mostly render times!), I let a link to the scene if someone have the time to look at (I now it's a lot of time!). Anyway, thank you for reading this looooooong post, I'll try to be faster next time!

Christophe

I don`t see any problem 8)
Just give me time for play....
for small res (as photo size is maximum 10 min render)

Thank you Janusz, yes I was expecting low render time as the render at 100% (50% of the picture I have posted here) and with low render settings was very fast...maybe I have to play with kray shader for texture with reflexions....or maybe I've read that area light are not the best options with kray (I almost use them everytime with LW). 10min for this kind of render would be amazing for sure!

Nice work, Christophe!

Your render resembles the photo reference very nicely.

Are the fallen leaves on the ground models or part of texture?

Thank you Barry (Should I know you from another forum?)

We don't see very well the leaves on the picture, but it's six different models (it' just a model of 8 polygons that I have bended, with color and clip map)...you can get them in the link I let here if you wish :)

Cheers
