Hi,
I install butterfly netrender and split frame for rendering with kray render, the slice don't have the same color or the same illumination . Does anybody knows why ?
Someone already have this problem ?
Butterfly / Kray problem when split frame?
Re: Butterfly / Kray problem when split frame?
I haven't tried this yet with bnr but I'll take a guess that they don't share the same gi cache.
Re: Butterfly / Kray problem when split frame?
Is it possible to make the prepass with BNR ?
or just with the master PC?
or just with the master PC?

That is correct, you need to calculate and save the GI on the fastest PC you've got ideally, and then set it to LOAD, save the scene and then render in BNR with image split, it will work 100%

Re: Butterfly / Kray problem when split frame?
It's not necessary to generate the full-quality GI solution on just one machine, though! Set it do to a full render, but without AA and at 10 % resolution. This will greatly speed up the generation of the GI cache, and once you have a 'baseline' to work from, the nodes will generate results that are much more similar to one and other.
did you guys tried to render with newest KRay?
Hi,
I have spend last 2 hours trying to set up rendering of one frame in BNR and KRay, did anyone succeed with newest version of KRay? I am getting this error on all render nodes except the first one (so it looks like it is problem between spiting frame function in BNR and KRay). Only one slice is rendered, the first one. It says 1 frame skipped because I have changed the scene - thinking that it might be KRay not wanting to render frame 0 in lwsn mode - but it was not that.

Make sure you are using LW output and disable Kray's.soth3d wrote:Hi,

can you add this piece of info please to the network rendering wiki?jure wrote:soth3d wrote:

it took me a long time to figure that one out...

finally found it here on the forum.
edit: did not fix my issues...
