Railings
Railings
Hi, first post here. I'm posting some samples from a current project I'm working on for a railing company.
The client wanted to show the products in an almost empty environment. I used photoshop for some contrast correction and bloom effect, but not final composition is done yet.
CC more than welcome

Re: Railings
For me Perfect !
Except ugly lether on armchair...

Re: Railings
Very nice,
but surfaces need more word to me. You also have a problem with your glasses surfaces. Check your smooth angle, when you look at the reflection, it looks like the glasse surface is curved.
You should cut and paste that "flat" surface or unweld it.

Yes very nice job on the railings. Some part of image have over burned light but good work overall.

Re: Railings
nice work for th emodeling part and surfacing in general, but for me, the metal of the railings does not look very convincing. what should that surface represent? brushed steel? chrome? maybe the reflections gradients (or did u use fresnel?) are not setup correctly - no idea why, but it looks a bit faked.
as for the glass, especially in the first image, as already posted, check for the smoothing angle. a slight bump on the single glass surfaces is a must for realistic glass, but this one is looking wrong.

Re: Railings
For the metal material i used conductor node with the roughness varying from 5 to 20%. The actual material is painted aluminum.3dworks wrote:nice work for th emodeling part and surfacing in general, but for me, the metal of the railings does not look very convincing. what should that surface represent? brushed steel? chrome? maybe the reflections gradients (or did u use fresnel?) are not setup correctly - no idea why, but it looks a bit faked.

In general I managed better reflections with hdri environments than Kray's physical sky which bythewayI found a great addition.
For the glass bump you mean some kind of fractal noise?

Re: Railings
Awesome lighting, although I do agree with 3DWorks, some of the metal is too "desert chrome" which is making it look a little CG, most noticeable on the first image hand rails.
But apart from that. Cool!
