Re: Lightwave 9.6 released
I have the long awaited 9.6 installed however I seem to be missing something! The external renderer tab seems to be missing from the render globals dialogue box. Also when I render frame from Kray, all I get is a standard lightwave render, incidentley I tried Fprime and this crashed instantly!! Has ...

it seems to be a problem with this scene. I rendered the benchmark and got the following results: Slow Quadcore: 3min 55 Fast Quad: 3min 03 Dualcore laptop: 10min 55 Fortuantely this shows that both of my Quadcores are running as they should do, however it is very odd that the same scene can render ...

Threads are showing as 4 and multithreading in Render globals is also set on 4. I tried increasing octree depth on the slow Quad core. It was at the default 20, I increased it to 30 this brought the render time down from 12mins to 7mins 30! This is better, although it should be more like 4mins 30. I...

Inconsistant render times
Hi I am experiencing a strange varition in render times depending on which computer I use. I own two quadcore machines and a dualcore laptop. My quadcores render with identical times using Fprime, however if I render with Kray one is over 3times faster than the other! My much slower dualcore laptop ...

I generally use the mulptiplier on my image resolutions therefore I test at say 1280x 1024 and then my final images are at 400% therefore 5120x4096, so I don't ever have odd numbers in my resolution settings. Interestingly my 32bit just crashes out of lightwave after antibanding - memory is never ne...

Oh one thing, antibanding crash is related to the frame aspect ratio, so your image is for example 1000x700, but if it's 1001x701 it might cause the crash, this has information on bug hunting forums also, check that too if the crashes continue... Or did you just use 400% or similar in camera settin...

Hi Erwin thanks for the offer, Unfortunately I have signed all sorts of confidentiality agreements on this job so I am not able to disclose anything. I have just purchased virtual render in another desperate attempt to save the situation, it seems to work on my old slower PC however not on my new 64...

Kray not suitable for high resolution images
I have purchased Kray and have got to grips with it pretty well, it seems to be capable of producing very good images quickly...... at low resolution. I have spent the last few weeks producing a set of visuals for a client I was extremely pleased with the results, 4 days before the deadline I starte...
