Re: Kray output multilayer exr?
Michael Wolf --- Theoretically yes... but that would require a Kray SDK that exposes those buffers. Unfortunatel the support for external renderers in LW 9.6 doesn't allow them to pass on buffer (I don't know if it by-passes image filters as well). Does Kray include any nodal support to manipulate ...

Re: Kray output multilayer exr?
I meant exr Trader of course. I went over to his forum and asked him if he thought it could be made to do so. I realize you guys would have to put somthing there (coded) for him to grab out of Kray first but wanted to see what his take on setting it up would be.

Re: Kray output multilayer exr?
Do you know if open EXR by Michael Wolf would work with Kray as a way to get the buffers out?

Kray output multilayer exr?
I was trying to get Kray set up for use in a production pipeline. One of the main things I need it to do is be ablet to write out different passes to an exr file. Also, I would like Kray to have a similar feature to Vray in that I can use the framebuffer to view the image in 2.2 gamma space but writ...

Re: Can't get GI to activate.
Ok, thanks.
I do have another question. I can't seem to get the area light to be visible in the renders even though I use the option in the kray gui. ANy thoughts?
Thanks for all your help. We are setting up up for farm use at Digital Domain.

Re: Can't get GI to activate.
OK, RC2 made the GI work again. Thanks
The f9 doesn't render GI but the render frame button does.Any ideas?
Will that impede the network renderer to work?

Re: Can't get GI to activate.
I was using the render frame button in the kray GUI. I also had Kray selected in the render engine dropdown.
Hey Jure, I just downloaded RC2 just now. Will get back to you with results.

Can't get GI to activate.
Hello Kray team. I have time to jump back into Kray. :D So, I was testing it out today and I noticed that Kray is not using GI when I have it set. Its definitely using Kray as the render engine but when I select photon mapping, preset high, using progressive pixel order, or any method, it will not u...

Re: Lightwave 9.6 released
I think what he is referring to is that the announcement says that one can pick Kray as a renderer for use in screamer net on a network.
Where do you find this render engine selection list?

Re: Kray seems harder to set up then before.
Here is the scene file. It seems I can only use luminous polygons now if I use indirect lighting. This is strange because it did not require it before and automatic does not find it. It says 1 active lumi light with automatic yet you only see a luminous surface with no light being cast in the scene ...

Re: Kray seems harder to set up then before.
Hmm I have "visible on" with area lights and they aren't showing up. I think I have a compatibility issue or something.

Kray seems harder to set up then before.
Hey guys, I used to be able to make one luminous poly and a few objects. Then I would turn off the lights and be able to light with the luminous poly using photon mapping. Now it seems I can not get this luminous polygon to light anything. I have set it up to be really really bright %150,000 and I b...

Re: Lightwave 9.5 is final but kray can not be installed
Hey guys, I fired up Kray 1.7 ob8 today in 9.5 and cant get anything to light up. I mean a 3 meter box is barely lit up with a 50,000% light surface. Any thoughts? It seems the BG lights up things fine but my luminous polys have to be like 100,000 to even start to light up stuff. And yes the scene s...

Thanks for your hard work on Kray.
I don't visit this forum as much as I should but I dropped by to get OB8 and just wanted to say thanks to the Kray team for making such a nice render engine. I love render engines. I own just about all of them except Brazil, and I always get excited when Kray has a new release. So keep up the great ...
