Here are my latest scene for RC1.
We investigate with G. problem with QMC sampling (should be faster and less noise) but at least I know in what place we stand right now.
I do not have i7 CPU but is easy calculate to this one which I have access for test this scene - My time render multiply 5 times.
Settings are quite extreme (because we have problems with sampling in new release)

Here FStorm with 2xTitanium 18 min (lol!)...it is around 4 times faster total than my GTX 1060:

This is not compare of speed render and quality. K3 has missing Shader system and real time tone map. It is simple impossible make better then Corona and Fstorm.

Good to see new progress and testing scene for KRay.
There is still a lot of noise in the mirror surface. Why?

waiting for VCM...
This is difficult path for photons: camera---lamp glass---glass in cabinet---again lamp glass---light source. Glass has refraction blur and transparency. There is no enough photons to proceed clean sampling. This will be optimized and of course improved itself by VCM.
Probably I will extract this from scene and will send to G. for testing.
Important is we have a lot spare time comparing to Corona and others.

G. investigate problem with noise and I sent him also stripped scene with lamp problem.
