Re: Corona Render Engine
Thanks for info.
We also go to multi light and real time tone mapping.
Please remember multi light need to be render (it take more time then usual rendering because noise information must be very clean in some regions) ...so this is no real time rendering ...image was render before and you need a coupe of hours in Corona to render this - no miracles
Remember also curve noise effect: ...first seconds of render is under value 20 after that takes forever. So in VPR it gives feeling like real time render but really good quality (acceptable) is after 10-300 min (depends from hardware).
Anyway Corona is for me always good example how should look render engine

Corona is getting better and better with every new version. How far/close we are with KRay 3 RC?

Thank you for a positive news. I am looking forward to RC release.Janusz Biela wrote:Testing new functions now in RC.cruisermori wrote:Corona is getting better and better with every new version. How far/close we are with KRay 3 RC?

Re: Corona Render Engine
We split now Global Illumination from LEM/Physical lights and backgrounds. They must work with separately options quality. This is necessary to reduce noise.cruisermori wrote:What new functions are you talking about?

Re: Corona Render Engine
It sounds promising. I hope all these new functions will not postpone KRay release too much.

Re: Corona Render Engine
G. focus on PRO100 now (but this influence also our Lightwave plugin).
After release K3RC will be implemented VCM system (necessary for shaders and for LW2017).

Re: Corona Render Engine
It is good that there is an improvement in Kray core in progress. We spent some time a tried KRay 3 but it is far from real use. It took more than 2 years from KRay 3 first information and there is still no clear roadmap for it.
GPU cards are getting cheaper and cheaper and render quality/speed is very good.
I am woriing that shader will not be implement until KRay 3.1. It can take moths or years??
Would it be possible to present roadmap for KRay?

Road map in short list:cruisermori wrote:It is good that there is an improvement in Kray core in progress. We spent some time a tried KRay 3 but it is far from real use. It took more than 2 years from KRay 3 first information and there is still no clear roadmap for it.

- next release K3RC (with working all features from K2)
- K3.1 adding VCM and by this also Lightwave 2017 Shaders support
- K3.2 (no info about it from G) Real Time post process and K3Shaders
Probably end of this month K3RC, next 2-3 months: K3.1. End of the year - you can render with Corona quality 5-10 times faster.
I will ask G. what is his schedule.
Re: Corona Render Engine
Thanks for information! But - what about GPU render possibility (and when?)?

Re: Corona Render Engine
G. goes to OpenCL. I am not in details with this new technology but OpenCl gives reverse channel information. It means with OpenCL CPU can interchange data with GPU (CUDA offers only one direction). With OpenCL we can use GPU as support for rendering in the same time with CPU. Generally this is very difficult to handle and I think G. must invent some new stuff for that. Will ask G. details about it.promity wrote:Thanks for information! But - what about GPU render possibility (and when?)?

Re: Corona Render Engine
Thank you Januszfor for this information. I know it is very difficult to predict program launch. I hope G. will be able to finalize production version of KRay 3 soon.Janusz Biela wrote:Road map in short list:cruisermori wrote:It is good that there is an improvement in Kray core in progress. Re: Corona Render Engine
I will give soon some new information about next releases.
....after 7 months we got almost Lightwave support K2 level - and from now we start overtake procedures! Next couple of months we will show real potential of K3!
