same here:
I think you waste time for Procedural Textures and Final gathering.
In first you should start mix real textures in LW system or better in Nodes.
In second just use QMC setup in Kray...Is the same time render with perfect GI...
One more think: more quality for modelling details (door, handles, sockets)
Rules number one : do not use basic stuff from LW CAD (it is only for speed modelling)
Reflection on wall need fresnel effect.
..but the light is good

Janusz, wanted to ask a question to you. Where are the settings and how to use QMC in kray?

You missed minimum 3 post with ready scene.
Here two setup (you can also use load/save in Render Preset)
HQ is is good for small resolutions but for HiRes (A3, A4) you can reduce FG to hals of HQ value. In HiRes render noise is less visible.

If you get noise in scene it means you use high luminescence surface or very strong light.

In Kray is nothing to setup in QMC. Only FG min/max value works. Higher (100/500) slower render.
Do not change Path Passes! It must be because still Photons must be shoot and correct in corners (QMC is not Path Tracing)

Hey Janusz!

Why IES lights do not produce soft shadows? Is it because of IES file or is it because photometric lights cannot produce soft shadows?

It should produce soft shadow but it depends from IES file (some produce sharp shadows because they have very small cone)

yup, soft shadows are based on type of IES file... do you know how to recognize that type of IES? or just trial and error? :)

Sometimes IES file make error in render (broken IES or wrong file?) also those with small cone angle are more sharper. I think generally it must be very wide. This is only one source of light which make soft shadow after Area Light. Spot lights are not supported in Kray.

For fast preview you can switch folder view to "Large Icons" or "Extra Large Icons"

Quality control for IES Lights (noise control):
Kray Menu - Quality - Luminosity min/max

Average setup 30/100.

Also this setup control Spherical light quality shadow.

Dzieki Janusz za scene high - low.
Bardzo szybki jest tu QMC. Mysle, ze osoby poczatkujace nie powinny sie tykac FG i odpalac cache Irridance.
Te opcje juz wymagaja wiedzy i "odrobine" doswiadzenia. W pierwszej fazie tylko i wylacznie QMC.

Wracam do KRAY i ucze sie na nowo.
Octane... malo precyzyjne, mydlane rendery, a LW native chyba bardziej udaje Gi niz je robi.

Na dodatek chyba blizej :) niz dalej do Kray 3.0 (prawda?)
pozdrawiam :)
