Here new functions in K3 Alpha:
- Full Real Time Path Tracing render
- Full Real Time Physky2 control
- Full Real Time Tone Mapping (in all system renders)
- Real Time Final Gathering - of course GI is BAKED in memory after render so only Real Time is Direct Light. I am not sure how Grzegorz will deal with this in future. There are some ideas but this will be incredible difficult to it! It is chance for that , because Photon Shooting phase is now very, very fast and maybe Grzegorz will connect some sources of light to make it faster.

Some function in VPRKray is not connected or done yet (still progressive render try go to fast to final render which make lags during moving camera, AA is disabled, )

Here Path Tracing in Interior. I think , speed of render is very good (equally to Maxwell or another software)

Yes this is really big improvement. Works with CPU only now (for GPU hybrid we must wait).
Also it works with Final Gathering but of course is not fully Real Time (only in Path Tracing is full: you can notice it when I disable Physky2 - render is black)

I am not sure how Grzegorz wants go far with Final Gathering. As we know changing light power, color, position objects or light sources affect Photon Map in scene. This is major problem for Real Time Final Gathering. If one of them is moved/change Kray must shoot again Photon Map. Now in this alpha version after shooting photons you can move camera everywhere without rendering GI, because Kray 3.0 store in memory GI so pressing again button render make render much faster (only AA , reflection, blur is calculated) I noticed if I change physky2 day time I do not need re-render scene. but this is not true real time FG because when I disable Physky2 still walls in interior/exterior are bright (only Path Tracing offer this: full real time).

All these options (VPR RT) works now only with Physky2. I do not know yet how deep it will go (physical lights and luminescence lights - next step). I do not thinks so it will be difficult for G. make it fully working.

Hybrid CPU/GPU is very important (not only GPU!) Some calculations are much faster by CPU (only this one can compute complicate parts of code). Because Path Tracing is easy to calculate and has short code then this part will compute GPU with CUDA cores.

1 more thing I really want fro new version of kray is no triple wireframe display on override mode.. :wink:

The displacement is ready (is not connected) but we must remember about RAM problems with displacement - it take a lot!
I asked G. to add some new passes: Vector Motion Blur (It is ready new motion blur in Kray but it will be better to have it as buffer - more control in post process) and Volumetric Light Pass.

I will send to G. mail to ask his schedule. I know is delay (perhaps he fight with core K3 because of Podium Render for Google Sketchup) They have already K3 Core inside Podium Render and maybe Kray Core needs some modifications. I will try get some informations from G.

The plugin is no problem. "Problem" is with Lightwave - this is really monster software. Connecting K3 Core to Google Sketchup and connecting K3 Core to Lightwave are two completely different things. Lightwave has Nodes, Instances, rich animation system, all kind of lights, Network rendering, Splines, Subpatches and thousand more. Kray must render properly all things from Lightwave without any problems - why everything takes long. Also many things is new in Kray and this must be also extrapolated (for example new Area Lights in K3 which are based on Area Lights from Lightwave).
I think 80% of connections are done.

Still waiting for answer....
