Trying to give more realism to materials

Post by medzo »

Hi

I have been struggling with plastic material setup. I am satisfied with normal setup without dirt images (clean surfaces), but when i start to incorporate dirt images ... well i am doing something wrong ... can anybody sugest me how too incorporate dirt images into materials?

I am attaching the render and scene
01_glossy_02_mat_03_glossy image_04_mat image
01_glossy_02_mat_03_glossy image_04_mat image
scene without dirt image

and a link to whole scene with dirt image

Try maybe by this way. I do it with all my surfaces. Basic setup plus clone textures and mix them with layers (multiply, difference , etc) I hope this will help.
But problem is not with setup, more important is imagination how should looks surface, what kind gray scale map should be use to emulate blur or reflection and bump map...
