problem with procedural transparency

Post by BadNoob »

hi kray people,
i'm doing a scifi scene and need to have a kind of energy shield that is only visible when a bullet comes near to the shield (a sphere). to achieve this, i use a procedural texture for transparency which has a null-object as reference object. (see this tutorial if you like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... ZsGGye-kfM)

may i be doing something wrong?
it seems to me like kray isn't able to handle this kind of transparency.
see the renders below (scene/textures aren't finished yet)

Did you turn on raytrace refraction switch in LW?

i loaded my old scene today, didn't change anything and it worked :/
sry, i don't have any idea why it didn't work some weeks ago, i must have disabled raytrace refractions accidentially.

thanks anyway :)
