Well I got to play with some early alpha last time... the basic structure is there but there's still quite a lot to do before we can put it into beta.

Is that kray alpha 3.0 or just the update for 2.3? Can't wait to get the one with shadow density support.

That one looks to be screamernet bug and I'm afraid there isn't much we can do.

Are you guys waiting for the november newtek announcement before you release kray 2.3.1 update?
I'm not expecting much this november from newtek except maybe a newsletter about terra nova and that other short film I forgot the name. Maybe lw 11, which is a bad move.
I hope kray update is sooner so more people can use it and find critical bugs that Internal beta team can't find.

Can you expand on this or is it still too early to reveal any details? I looked at the SDK some time ago but didn't get very far with it.

Thanks,

Why? lw users are not expanding. Anyone remembers truespace?
Kray needs to expand to have resources to develop further.

Sorry guys, that boat sailed a long time ago!

We have had the Kray engine in Podium for a long time now. For all those people that think that you can't produce professional quality visualisations with SketchUp, you're just wrong I'm afraid. It will never be as good as the best high end modellers, but you can definitely get professional results from it. There are lots of renderers that support SU including Maxwell, Vray, Fryrender, Luxrender, Octane, so why not Kray as well?

I think we absolutely have to have Kray in there to showcase exactly what it can do, and how fast it is. I think it's actually essential. Who knows what is going to happen with Newtek? It is not gaining market share fast, and arguably has been in decline for years. Having other options is very sensible.

What you might not realise is that Podium supports the development of Kray. GT gets paid for every licence we sell, and I'm absolutely certain there are more Kray users with SketchUp than with LW. There are a little over 1000 members on this forum. We have four times that many, and most of our users don't join the forum. We are getting around 10 new users registering on our forum per week.

Embrace the change! The better we do, the better it is for Kray.
