How do I bake GI only

Post by Josamoto »

Pavlov mentioned some time ago he bakes GI only, giving blue and orange color variations on the texture map.

How do you go about baking GI without textures? Do you use a default material setup?

Try baking with surface flags command. http://www.kraytracing.com/manual/kray_ ... face_flags

0 Enables indirect lighting computation only
1 Enables direct lighting computation
2 Enables textures

just use surface_flags 0; as command, this creates a colorbleed-only on diffuse white surface suitable for using as PS_multply in the colorchannel.
Don't use the old Multiply for LW Multiply is not correct for this.

Thanks guys!!!

It's good to know I don't have to reset all materials to default just to bake the GI.
