Hello everyone,
I recently started out playing with KRay... and I thought I'd post a small example of the experimenting I have been doing.
I used a lot of the tips and advice posted on this board...
It is only a low-res render; the resolution it has to be deliverd in is 1280 x 720 as animation (walkthrough). Also, I kept the AA settings low to decrease rendertime.
In photoshop, I applied some color correction (mainly contrast) and some sharpening.
I would really appreciate suggestions or comments!
Thanks

I think the over all lighting look good. Looks like just textures to play with now. I like it.

Looks good to me so far! Maybe a little bit strong on the contrast or maybe it's just my LCD.

my advice:
1- the sharpen is too strong
2- the background is too contrast
3- small table too noise in the top
4- carpet in the table is too strong

Thanks for the comments!
Yes, the contrast was indeed a bit too strong to my linking as well, but I haven't figured out how to decrease contrast without reducing light in the room!. How do you do it?
The noise is a problem due to antialiasing and too high bump map, I think.
Thanks again, folks!

You can balance the contrast with tonemapping settings. Add more gamma and/or reduce exponential and you should get less contrast.BarryV wrote:Thanks for the comments!
