villa reconstruction

Post by 3dworks »

my first commercial work with kray, a classical villa reconstruction. solid modelling in autodessys formz, tesselated export as LWO's, scene setup in LW 9.6.1 64 bit and rendering with kray 2.1, all on mac.

rendertime of the full 4k image was about 1h on a macpro 8 core nehalem 2.66 ghz (rendering on mac is yet much slower than on windows, but still a good time)...

final result as compositing

well, the lighting is just a simple 40 m sized lw area light with squared falloff at a 4 km distance, slightly warm colored, and an environment which is using dpont's skylight shader in the environment tab. materials are custom textured, 'lw classic style multi layered' surfaces. sorry, unfortunately, i can't share them because some textures are from commercial collections...

cheers

Really impressive work Markus.

BTW because you are reconstructing the Villa, you can't left the neighbors without TV
