Here is a character animation exercise rendered out in Kray. The animation was done in Maya with the set, textures, pin dynamics, etc. done in LightWave.

that's cool! What gi mode did you use for rendering in kray? Shared allow animation or interp? Did you do multipass render?
I have encountered that if I use kray to render the character separately and made the bg unseen by camera, it takes kray almost the same time to render out the frame with the bg visible ( single pass render). So I fake the lights for the character when I render the character only.

It was 'Shared for all frames' with 'Allow Animation' selected & cached the GI. I did this one in a single pass. Nice trick with faking the lighting on just the character only pass.
