Diffuse model Raytrace

Hello,
does it make sense to render glass (for example windows) with the diffuse model raytrace instead of photon mapping? Will it speed up the render process? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I'm not sure, but sounds interesting enough to do some tests on it, will report the results once I'm done (may take a while though)

No. Glass shouldn't have any diffuse anyway, and GI is only calculated for surfaces that have nonzero diffuse and color.

So, should glass be set to specific diffuse model (raytrace) or not?
And what about "Control FG Rays"?

Unless you have diffuse on your glass (which you shouldn't!), there's no need to do anything.
