KRay 2.0 LScript UI Re-Layout Test

Post by matt gorner »

Hi all

I've been having a go at tidying up the KRay LScript UI. Nothing earth shattering, just gadget alignment and spacing, and also added a banner graphic to make it look a little more 'pro'.

Also moved the 'Render Preset' gadgets out of the 'General' tab as they affect parameters in other tabs, so having it in the 'General' settings tab is misleading, as it's not unique _just_ to that tab.

The spaces in the UI are clearly for the hidden gadgets that appear when various settings are changed.

I plan to do the other tabs, but thought some feedback might be useful.

Cheers
Matt

P.S. The banner graphic can obviously be changed, just wanted to try something clean and simple.

The positions _are_ the same Johny, apart from the 'Render Presets', as pointed out, things have just been 'tidied up'. I certainly don't want to try and upset many long time users! Besides, these are just suggestions, it's totally up to the KRay team whether they want to use it or not. :)

While I agree it is just a tool, I would add, it's not a cheap tool, and it doesn't hurt to convey a little more professional layout / presence.

I like your new panels, I was hopeful Core was going to include your layout, but no go.. maybe it will be easier to customize in the future..

oh and welcome to Kray !!

Unfortunately I can't! :D

I am a stickler for neatly laid out UIs, and I have to say, the look of the UI from early screenshots did put me off buying KRay at first, it was only after I started seeing some of the amazing renders that I became interested again.

CORE does allow UI theming, and some workflow will be user definable, see my website in my sig for what you can do with CORE.

I mean that you have designed a GUI that emphasizes the power and strength of the software

I also think we could have the tailer comands more integrated to the UI maybe buttons.
Matt has made a great and very nice to work with UI for CORE. It's the one I use. looks very pro!

Looks good. I like the kray banner and the borders look balance. Like in the other thread I mentioned those commands.
There should be some way to make it cleaner. But then there are numerical inputs for those commands. How to solve that hmm.....

I like it. Especially moving the preset area out of the main section is a good idea.
