HDRi has sense only with two special tools which transforms the strongest light information (Sun for example) to the direct light and reduce errors from HDRi (Importance sampling). Otherwise in traditional way you have very bad light, extreme power light information affects "hot photons". Using HDRi in Kray is pointless.
Using generally in rendering has maybe some positive aspects (natural, surrender light, maybe studio render) but for example for interiors I would NOT use it: gradient colour is very bad, the power of photons is unstable (without Importance sampling it is really bad idea), no changes colour according to daylight.
Maybe combination Physical Light and HDRi is good for some users.
