Hi Guys,
I have an animation where there are several characters playing around in a indoor scene filled with lights. They also interact with the light in the scene.
What is the best way to prepare this to render on a farm? Should I use the update GI and framestep on 1 and use the bake only option?
Thx!

Re: rendering animation on network - GI settings
Is the change of indirect light significant or is it mostly direct lighting that changes? If it's mostly direct then you can bake every few frames with "bake only" option and "UPDATE" in shared GI mode and then on your farm use LOAD option with "bake only" off.
If it's siginificant change in indirect light then you'll need to use time interpolated mode which wasn't really made for network rendering. Perhaps it would work though if you use lots of photons and set render nodes to render different frame ranges.

Hi Jure,
Thx again for all the hellp you offer on this forum!
Here is the scene: This is the figure, there will be several playing around in the scene. I just hope that I dont need to render it on time interpolation. I really want to use my farm for this.
Thx,
fabian

You should be fine with baked solution. It's mostly direct light shadows that will be changing around... Nice character!

Thx! Here some other poses:
We're ganna change the hair just a bit. The flames are just a volumetric light rendered with lightwave native renderengine. Maybe we will add some particels in the flames.
Greetzzzz,
Fabian

Wel, we're working on it. Gonna change the setting a bit. It's gonna be lighter, bigger background screen... stuff like that.
I will the post the animation very soon...
