Make a random color or material in Kray instance?
Hi everyone,
Actually I don't know how I want to explain. Can I make a random color or material using Kray instance? For example a tree, I want to used a Kray instance for clone a lot of tree and in the same time I want to make a random or different color/material of leaf etc. Hope you guys know what I'm trying to say.
Anyway sorry for my English.
Thanks.
Azmen

Well there is not an easy one click solution for this yet. But there are couple of options you can use:azman_821009 wrote:Hi everyone,

1. "Use color" option in Kray Instances will allow you to colorize the instance with the templates color. For this to work your template points must be at least 1-point polys so that they can have material applied.
2. You can create a map where you paint certain areas different color and apply this as a planar map over your whole instanced area (must be applied in world coordinates mode).
3. use nodes to get variation between instances.

How can I turn OFF the instance I made? I've try to turn it OFF on 'Objects Properties > Geometry .....' and also on 'Kray Instance > Enable Plugin' but it still appeared.
Thanks.

Two ways:azman_821009 wrote:How you did for this option? Can you show me and explain step-by-step.vpii wrote:2 in the list is what I have been doing.

Azmen
1/ by points (You have to create points as poly)
2/ by wire (normal wire or better, Subpatch)
Both you can setup with texture (very important "world textures coordinates" and Y direction" Just put texture for clone surface and in plugin Instance select option for take colours.

Turning off "enable plugin" should work. Check again.

So works? If not please delete all Kray.p from disk (by searcher windows as: "kray.*") and put all new Kray plugins in one folder.
