incorrect cubic projection textures

Post by antoniomitalia »

hi everybody, i'm new with kray and i was just testing the "tutorial scene revisited, by jure" (the inteior with sofa).

the problem is that the textures of the floor didn't render properly.

i didn't touch a thing, and if you see the floor on lightwave's Open GL or make render on it, it's all OK!, but if you render on Kray, texture seems to be streched to infinite!

i attach two screen shots:
surface_setttings.png
kray_render.png

what's the problem??

thanks

To describe more my situation: I'm using Kray 2.1 on a Mac with LW 9.6 UB and OSX 10.4 Tiger.

Hope this is not the problem, what do you think?

It renders fine here. Make sure your texture rotation values are all 0°.

Hi Jure, i loaded the scene again, and for the first (before too), this message appears:
physky_newer.png
I have the latest version of kray from your site, 2.1, maybe the message is cause the scene provides from pc version?

then i checked the texture and there's no rotation in any angle (is your orginal scene, i didn't touch a thing):
no_rotation.png
texture displays correctly on LW OpenGL, but when i make Kray render, this happens:
render.png

* I'm not sure, but remenber that i read on a thread of this or other forum, that Cubic and UV projections from LW didn't macth with Kray, maybe this is the reason?

I'm going to install paralles and then XP on my mac and test the scene again, anyway it could be nice if you can test the scene on a mac (i've got osx 10.4)

maybe is something related to autoparts? may i have to load some settings before making render?

will post my results here

thanks for support!

I don't have mac so I can't test if this is mac issue. Maybe someone else can test this and let us know?

Hi,
I have tested the scene out of the box with LW version 9.6 32bit and LWHC 32bit+64bit on an Intel Mac Pro 2008 and everything is fine here. You mentioned Tiger. Are you using an older PowerPC Mac? Sorry, but the PowerPC version I'm not able to testing on.

best regards

Hi, i have just tested the scene on an very old pc with Win32, and it's all OK.

So it's a problem with Mac osx 10.4 tiger.

Can any other users with Mac 10.4 render onjects with "cubic projections" and post results?

thanks

10 min is a way too much for a scene like that!

Yeah!, last test was rendered on a very old Pc (AMD with 256 Mb Ram), just to test the scene out of my Mac.
