Colours

Post by NiGMa »

Hello again,

Another question: I have attached 2 renders one is straight out of kray, the other is after some post work. How do I set up my scene so that I get the colours and gamma to like what I adjusted it to in post?

Do you guys think the major thing that affects the scene colour is:-
a. Skydome colour and Sun colour
b. Internal surfaces colours (Walls, ceilings, furniture)
c. Something else I haven't thought of.

Thanks

NiGMa

P.S. I am finally getting some decent renders out. I found out my favourite setting, its MinDist on the FG tab, instead of having to 8000FG's at 25%MinDist, I raise it to 100% and do 2000FG and get better results WAY WAY quicker, still hanging for kray 1.7 though, only using 1/4 of my machines power. =)

It looks like your blue skylight is casting very strong blue color in your enviroment. So making it less blue should help. Also turn down gamma. It looks like you use 2.2 but your materials are not corrected for gamma 2.2. Use gamma around 1.5 or whatever suits to your render best.

Usualy interior will get most color from ambient light that comes through windows and from bounced light that bounces off floor and walls.
