Re: kray 3.0 preview
Here scene in override mode and higher resolution (21 sec/frame/i7 CPU 12 threats) + wire frame render for fun  Skyportal is OFF, because is nonsense in this case. Have nice test :!: http://youtu.be/NNG5pCmctco I just rendered the scene. Render time is not bad. But there's something very wron...

Re: Animation Rendering in Kray
Why is that? I didn't know that time interpolation mode in kray needed more than 1 pass to work.Janusz Biela wrote: If is time interpolation used then we must use two passes for each frame.

Re: kray 3.0 preview
Thanks for the scene johny. I'll disect the scene as soon as possible to see what is a good setup for animation in kray. From the override video it looks very good. Something regarding kray 2.5 and kray 3.0. Is it possible for these plugins to co-exist in one lw installation? I hope kray 3.0 won't b...

Re: Animation Rendering in Kray
Can you post lw scene from other thread? Lets take the discussion here about animation. Animation prepass in vray is very very good. There is minimal flicker and because this is not bruteforce, it is fast . Sometimes you don't even need prepass just set to bruteforce +irridiance. Ofcourse this is ch...

Re: Animation Rendering in Kray
Flicker was also my problem with moving objects up close in kray. For this case (moving objects) You have two tools in Kray. Allow Animation and the best in my opinion option which ONLY KRAY HAS: Time interpolation. Afaik kray time interpolation is blending fg frames successively or set by user man...

Re: kray 3.0 preview
I'm pretty sure montecarlo with no interp is bruteforce. Means no cheats. But also means slow depending on render engine. Unbias engines are also bruteforce since they don't cheat. They're cheating now afaik to keep up with biased engines. Metropolis Light Transport, etc seem to be cheatin...

Re: kray 3.0 preview
Monte carlo is brute force afaik. If you set lw native to monte carlo and turn off interpolated its bruteforce but very poor performance. In kray I've tried to use uncache mode for animation but its also poor performance. Fprime was better in that regard. No flicker, consistent render with fprime. Y...

Re: kray 3.0 preview
That depends on the engine and users. Not even the best user can output animated renders if the renderer is not up to it.
I'm speaking of animation in general not the archiviz type. Deformation, motion graphics, etc.
Arnold, vray, fprime have good bruteforce renderer

Re: kray 3.0 preview
I've got the same question, assuming it is definitely cheaper to wait for kray 3,... do you have any idea on an aproximate launching date? Soon Kray as standalone will be close so first beta perhaps will appear around in next 2-4 months. Soon more details. Hope you guys don't forget the anim...

further update to kray 2.5?
Just wondering if there will be further updates to kray 2.5? Lack of exr is killer. This is the one production friendly feature missing in kray now. We have workaround for lack of micropoly displacement, etc but image output and buffers is severely limited in kray. Loading .hdr sequence is 20 times ...

Re: kray 3.0 preview
Its not really lack of sharing. Its lack of lw users in general. Turbulence4D is way behind the c4d version according to a lw/c4d user. There's just more c4d users out there so its a priority for the t4D developer. I think its good move to try and capture sketchup users. The move by octane renderer ...

Re: kray 3.0 preview
Would be good to have some early screenshots of what's being developed. Besides making a good program there's good marketting and hype. WIthout them a good program is not going to gain users or interest. There's so many new renderers coming out and competition is so fierce. Iray, octane, final rende...
