According to Moore's law power doubles each 24 months.. So, after 4 years it has to be just 400% faster than now.. So, if currently dual quad-core are sold, after four years there should be dual 16-core. It's easily doable IMHO.. ;) Well, technically, Moore predicted that the number of components w...

If you set the frame interpolation to a lower value, like 5 perhaps, you should reduce the delay and it might still be enough to get a stable solution.

Unless you have diffuse on your glass (which you shouldn't!), there's no need to do anything.

No. Glass shouldn't have any diffuse anyway, and GI is only calculated for surfaces that have nonzero diffuse and color.

Why would you turn OFF mipmapping? The mipmapping is there to help reduce moiré in image maps!

Yes, I think it does. In fact, Kray never needed the whole air polygon thing.

I could of course be wrong, but aren't IES lights in Lightwave simply spheres with an image in the transparency channel casting shadows? In other words, you could stick a spot light in it with a soft angle, and get Kray to render it with soft shadows.

Why do you have reflections on your ceiling, anyhow? You only really see it on the big ugly one.

Rendering in passes is certainly a possibility, but keep in mind that Kray's "global" approach to illumination makes it a bit tricky. If you have a scene that only uses local shading, rendering in passes is a piece of cake, but when everything interacts with everything, it's not quite as s...

One other thing to add and I just now thought of this does Kray support nodally generated surfaces in LW or do you have to disable them?? It supports some nodes, but not all of them. If you set up your texturing using Nodal, it will work (math nodes, texture nodes, procedural nodes, etc). Anything ...

Easiest way to get to grips with Kray's tone mapping is to render out an image to HDR and then load it up as a background image and render just the image with various tone mapping options, so you won't have to wait as long.

Will support for the additional passes be added at some point? It's a very important feature to me. How does the GI calculating work for a single frame? What are the render times like at 10+k resolutions, compared to 2k?

Brilliant!

Will I be able to get all of Kray's different outputs (reflections, indirect illumination, etc) out of VirtualRender as well? Does it work properly with Kray's anti-aliasing instead of using VirtualRender's own "AA passes" setting?
