That's strange. What are your surface settings?

Are you by any chance using blurring accuracy limit lower than 100%?

Well yes... If you have for example a luminous poly with 200% intensity you can set threshold to 2.0 or higher and it will be computed as passive. As I said all light sources with intensity smaller than "threshold" will be computed as passive, those with higher than "threshold" a...

The threshold of 1.0 will make all lights that are 100% luminous or more active and those that are below 100% passive.

Are you using specularity on your surfaces? If you are maybe better try without them and use blurred reflections. And fina a nice reflection map, a HDRI one or similar. I suggest checking out this tutorial: http://www.dbki.de/tutorials/eng/hdr_lighting/index.htm

I don't think angle 80° will make low quality shadows. It will make samples on curved surfaces farther appart.
I'm not 100% sure though...

I checked your settings and I don't know if this will be any better but you can try this settings instead:

FG threshold 0.0 | min 100 | max 2000
spatial tolerance: 0.1 | angle: 80°
distance min: 50% | max 5000%
B/D: 0% | oversample: 100%

I think you did a nice work. The rim looks very nice. I like how the specular highlight is broken. Few suggestions: - add an reflection map and make materials on knobs slightly reflective - add maybe a bit irregularity on knobs to break specular there also. - Add a bit more depth to "screens&qu...
