Hi!
Why Vray renders grass so much more realistic than Kray? This is especially noticable with close-ups.
Both renders are from Vray, I can't get even close with Kray. Any ideas?

Re: interior no sun
yup, soft shadows are based on type of IES file... do you know how to recognize that type of IES? or just trial and error?

Re: interior no sun
Hey Janusz!
Why IES lights do not produce soft shadows? Is it because of IES file or is it because photometric lights cannot produce soft shadows?

Re: Interior design
Thanks Mato!
It's supposed to be a real brick wall with reflecting glazing, but in the end it came out on renders like a fake wallpaper Displacement would be nice and I also should spent more time on material...maybe next time

Re: Interior design
Thanks
I am attaching my settings so others could see. In some areas they are higher than you suggested but it still renders around 2h, which is very fast.
Currently i am not exploring old kray in depth, because it seems kind a waste of time as we expect K3.0 any time now, right

Hi This is a small project I did for my friend. Rendered in QMC mode (there is some noise), lumi polygons with raytrace shader (i am a little to lazy to set up area lights), render time 2-2,5h per frame. 014-00000.jpg 014-00001.jpg 014-00002.jpg 014-00004.jpg 014-00006.jpg C&C are welcome

Re: kray 3.0 preview
But under advanced tab, are we going to know what to tweak or will we need to learn it from scratch?

Hey Janusz!
What about learning curve? Is any of our knowledge from K2.5 going be of any use or is K3.0 totally new product with completely different settings?

Blurring Accuracy Limit
Hey Janusz (I bet you will know) :) I have been playing with blurring accuracy limit. If I set it to 10%, renders look (in my opinion) much better but render times also almost double. Is the any trick that would lower render time but preserve the blurring details. Thanks. I am attaching two renders....

Re: exterior
For me is ok, there are only minor corrections that i would do. Better clone stamping for the background, at least one or two people in the image, maybe if wooden facade would be modeled, but i know this is a lot of work and uv mapping
