[quote="If by my windows being luminous you mean they have a Luminosity value higher then ?%, then no, they don't have any luminosity in there texture properties.[/quote] OK so you use only lmapping and imageworld/backdrop to light the room or is the sky itself a luminous surface? If it is a po...

have you turned on limitdr -1; in krays tailer? That will help AA alot in bright areas like your white windows. If you look among presets for tailor you find limitdr1; but setting it to -1 will make it smarter and adaptive depending on lightsituation. About your glaswindows, if you remove the glas c...

Really nice work exception. Tell us when we can add it to gallery if you want that :D There was some flicker but nothing that higher FG can fix. Yeah what was rendertimes about? Did you use adaptive AA or Fullscreen?

Anyways i would be happy with a zdepth pass export. Then you should be because kray does export zbuffer. Yeah Kray have supported this for a long time now. Try needbuffers -1; in tailer. then you get out : Alpha, caustics, direct light, indirect light, other, reflections, refractions, pure texture a...

Next release of OB will have cached GI but still ability to move objects. We even plan to further than this like separate irradiancemaps for static and moving objects but that will be in future releases.

Well what about a hybrid where direct and strong lights are photonmaped and the rest lmapped?

Sometimes photonmapping is superior, sometimes lightmapping, it depends on lightsources used and what you try to accomplish. One weakness of lmaps are the lack of precision and that it's hard to get a well defined irradiancemap but the strenght is that you quickly get a blurry overall lighting and i...

Only for photonmapping since lightmaps are traced "backwards" from camera instead from lightsource.

It's true you dont waste photons if you add luminous polys in windows or arealights but an area/luminous poly will just cast the same kind ow light in all directions which will look very artificial. Since light have inverse square falloff the area closest to those "lamps" will be burnt out...

Pshop is god but i have limited knowledge of it so i never use it.
If it's to dark, raise lightsources or Exponential. If windows/lightsources gets way blown out and the room is black anyways i raise photonmultiplier.
I never ever use so called fillights.

MMmm yummy scene with photonmaps and skyportals :D Yeah i also misses contactshadows and think it might be due to low numbers of photons or way to high N-values so it looks very smooth and clean but without definition. If you make the glaspanels in the background luminous and use photonmapping i thi...

Yes since they hit the target easier and faster you dont have to shoot that much. More photons also gives better detailed irradiance and photons overall gives higher quality irradiance than for example lmaps. Less splotches/yellowish dot's and you can use much lower n-values.

So far the skyportals works as a shader that is applied on any surface you want to use as a skyportal. The surface can be Global skyportal or local skyportal. A global one will take all emitted photons into account and pass everything through it. That way there wount be any photons at all shoot and ...

Im so excited so i throw anything at kray now. Another skyportal doodle. Only skylight and weak sunlight (spot) no optimizations or anything just set it up and pressed render with low AA
