Re: Lightwave 9.5 is final but kray can not be installed
Hey guys, I fired up Kray 1.7 ob8 today in 9.5 and cant get anything to light up. I mean a 3 meter box is barely lit up with a 50,000% light surface. Any thoughts? It seems the BG lights up things fine but my luminous polys have to be like 100,000 to even start to light up stuff. And yes the scene ...

VirtualRender v1.6 has been released!
VirtualRender http://virtualrender.trueart.eu is yet another LightWave renderer. The difference from other solutions is that it does not use physical memory for framebuffer allowing to render the biggest imaginable scenes without using virtual memory, which slow down rendering a lot, or which immedi...

I am on Windows and didn't see any difference.. But when there is set Classic Camera Kray has to do all camera ray calculations internally, but when it's set to ACT camera like Perspective, these calculations are passed to LWSDK.. Maybe it's introducing some slowdowns.. In any case, please provide e...

That is exactly how I use it too... would be nice to have a wireframe of the null, I know its hard to code from kray thought (affecting the layout view), or at least a bounding box (there might be a plugin for this though) No, it's quite easy- can be done LW <=9.2 compatible way using custom object...

That's hardly a fair comparison. Using pure MC in Lw makes no sense. Nobody uses that and its the least powerful Lw radiosity mode.... IMHO Monte Carlo is the best GI. Once processors will be much more powerful than now, even games will use Monte Carlo GI. Interpolated/cached GI is just fake for cu...

Failing to load means that your computer is not able to LoadLibrary() in Windows.. There is a couple reasons - wrong (too old) CPU like Pentium 4 or Athlon XP without SSE2 and plug-in compiled for SSE2.. or tring to load 32 bit plug-in on 64 bit LW, or 64 bit plug-in on 32 bit LW.. What are your mac...

It's not about complexity. Nodes which are not using ray-tracing should work. Dialectric and other materials get their result by using ray-tracing functions to learn what geometry is close to them. I have feeling that Kray uses improper/different near clip value than LW, thus ray-tracing function re...
