Re: Small Viz reel
What were the AA settings you used? The images look quite clean and the render times are nice. Just curious. Thanks.

Re: What improvements would you like to see in Kray next?
Even though GPU rendering could improve things, something is missing. A VPR. Tweaking materials take ages as there are no way to preview them correctly. We have to launch a render each time because we need to work the textures under the same lighting conditions. I don't like this workflow, it's tim...

Re: stone
Looks really nice. I personally think the scale of the background trees is fine. The only thing about compositing like this is the softness of the background image, in contrast to such sharp AA on the digital rendered image. May consider making some soft DOF on the actual rendered image to blend wit...

Re: Kray 2.55 version Error
So 2.55 is not yet stable for lw 11.6? I can confirm that 2.55 build 1223 with LW 11.6 latest, is very stable. I did not have experience with previous versions much but do not get crashes or errors. I am happy with the stability shown so far. Just wanted to note for others that might read this thre...

Re: Tip's & trix..
Use Clip maps on Leafs and Trees. This will help KR engine speed up rendering process. We use to use transparency maps and Janusz told us that clip maps are the only way to go. A little more to setup in each scene, as clip maps are not a part of the object itself, but a scene item. But a quick way t...

2.5 Build 1223 - LW 11.6 BUG with instances
I am new to KRAY so please let me know if there is a more formal way to submit bug reports. Sorry... In Build 2.5 1223 of Kray in Lightwave 11.6 there seems to be a bug with instances. If you have lightwave instances setup on a piece of geometry you CANNOT go to the instances tab and uncheck the ON ...

Re: resort lobby test render
Seems to me that the hallway like areas should be much brighter. Probably not bright enough with lumi polys. Also a space like this with such volume might have some overhead lights, high pendant lights etc. Not sure if this is artistic or fully designed from arch drawings... It all seems a bit dark ...

What is a .SEM file extension from KRAY
I network render and in my frame directory there are .SEM files. Just curious what these are? I use a shared .gi file.

So which image (top or bottom) is VRAY. There are things about each that I like. Just curious.

Re: My first try with node ...
Very nice renders! In the second image near the ceiling and around the hood over the cook surface you have some splotches. Janusz could probably give you some pointers as to how to get rid of those.
Otherwise there isn't anything that gives it away from CG. Very nice.

In case the above link goes away for some reason I thought I would post the file here as well. Giving credit to grabiller and Lightwolf from the lightwave forums for such a nice piece of software.

Re: KRAY Surface Presets
Sorry in LW or Kray no solution for that. Personally I do not use LW preview surface system. I save all my surfaces as file_name.srf and use my memory. There some plans in Kray for surfacing system in future. I understand. But for many visual aid's are very nice. Me included. So for us the above pr...

Re: KRAY Surface Presets
I found this on the Lightwave forums. Look down in the middle of the post there is a program that will allow you to right a new thumbnail to a preset file. It's manual process but then the PST file is saved and always has new thumbnail! Could be very nice in my opinion. Have not checked it yet, but ...
